I liked Umek when his music had some actual balls...
the stuff you like is long irrelevant, its not 90s anymore.
Umek is one of the very few famous oldschool techno djs that still manages to adapt and stay current with his music, hence he is like the second or third most famous techno dj while many others have faded away.

If you say so. But aside from getting the date right in a round about way, you're so very, very incorrect.
Plenty of famous Techno DJs still playing in this vein - just because *you* don't listen to them, doesn't mean they don't exist.

Yea but the fact that they exist does not mean that they are anyhow relevant in contemporary electronic music ))). And yes there are a few djs that play detroit kinda stuff or oldschool acidic influenced techno that are still popular but mostly its is either an unusual occurence or they are riding on the fame of their glory days.
Obviously not all the people keep up with times and some stay with the sound that is old and undestandable to them and it kinda keeps those sounds alive for a while but then they start sounding primitive/silly/cheesy or whatever and eventually cease to be relevant. For example, would you call hardstyle or happy hardcore relevant genres today??? they still exist but the glory days are long and forever gone, most people that listened to that at some point since then moved on newer styles that make more sense today. And while detroit/other oldschool techno maybe somewhat alive in a couple of west european countries or detroit itslef generally it is long done as a genre because 1. most electronic music fans now like different sounds 2. when the old enthusiasts leave there will be barely any young blood to replenish it.
What does my Screename have to do with this? Because I listen to Progressive and people think thats Outdated? I didnt get the point of that i apologize
