Eh...all I'm trying to say is it's kinda dumb whenever a thread gets made like this to try and point out how dumb it is that the general public blames our scene for these kinds of deaths. I don't think I've seen anyone on this forum or any EDM forum for that matter say that the scene is to blame. So those people should take their points and arguments somewhere, where they can actually change people's opinions instead of just getting a bunch of people who already agree all fired up. |
I've previously read posts here pointing out how parties can be run better, the responsibility of the organizers, and the unfortunate inherent nature of "raves" that allow minors to attend. All valid points that are constructive, imo. The event IS to blame if it is designed to draw a very young crowd that has a tendency to go overboard with drugs and putting them in an unsafe environment.(lack of ventilation, water, or security)
Having said that, I'm glad someone posted this article and we are discussing it. It makes everyone aware of the the trend in the media right now -- to point out the dangers of the EDM scene.(fair or unfair) And I think many of the analogies are logical. Just because we are getting fired up discussing this, it doesn't make it any less legitimate.
