Jesus seeing someone describe mau5 stuff as prog house blows my mind. Even that DJ set to me isn't prog house. When did the change over happen?

Prog house to me is stuff that used to be on Fluid UK, steelfish, avantgarde, hope, bedrock. If your looking for old stuff like that:

Just out of curiosity, then, what would you call the mau5's stuff? It's not really electro house, but not prog house?

And, just for the love of being precise, yes "Dinka" is prog house but with a strong "Lounge" influence.
Prog house can also be less "chill" and more "deep". Daniel Portman for example who truly shows the meaning of "progression" in his tracks. "Immortal" and "Time Well Wasted" are his best tunes imo. Check them out.

Also...
Bansi & Riktam
Bale & Voltaire
Chris De Seed

And many more...

I honestly think prog.house is such a vague term now, but the tracks posted in the topic, even the Valentino track are surely trance, prog.house is the more melodic and less danceable (not always) house subgenre, this definition fits for prog.trance too but if you confront a prog.house with a prog.trance track the differences are clear.

When a prog.house producer makes prog.trance this is the mess, because probably the track fits in both and isn't specifically one of those.

However the discussion (endless) has no sense, if you like prog.house you like prog.trance twin genres.

About deadmau5 it's another mess, i've seen dubstep, minimal , electro, prog.house and yesterday i discovered a hardstyle track from 1995 by him... what i'm sure people is wrong is when they say "Deadmau5 is Trance".

Although some tracks like Faxing Berlin or Brazil could be classified as prog i think Deadmau5 is electro-house , but i think himself can't decide under whose flag he is.
