Decent mix. I enjoyed the opening half an hour a lot, and then we got into that Clovis remix which signalled the start of some very clichéd deep-tech house - canned spoken samples and vaguely jazzy instruments ahoy. It got interesting again when you started picking up the pace and going a bit proggy. Really enjoyed those tracks, would like to see the tracklist. Then you lost it a bit at the end. I can sort of see how that 16 Bit Lolitas remix is supposed to be the peak moment, followed by a more laid-back track to lead out, but I think you lost the flow.
Mixing was good, occasionally you could hear the beats getting thicker during a transition but you kept everything under control. I also know that last track but can't quite remember where I've heard it. I have the feeling it's quite a big track. |
The hardest parts of this mix, for me, were the very start and the peak moment. Basically I have a big playlist which is all the music I've been hearing and playing lately that I enjoy a lot and I tried to take some of my favorite songs from there and form it into a cohesive set. I would definitely agree that near the end I had some issues with the flow.
Glad to hear that you enjoyed both the beginning and the end. Also glad that you didn't think it was terrible I was pretty happy to find some proggy tracks from 2010 that I enjoyed. I'll be posting the tracklist tomorrow. Thanks for giving it a listen and letting me know what you thought
Grant, thanks for giving it a listen. Sorry the beginning wasn't to your tastes, but glad you enjoyed the rest at least!
Game + Watch, definitely let me know what you think when you're done with it
