Not putting words in his mouth, but I don't think that he is saying that it does. I think his point is simply that he has gained an appreciation for art music due to its complexity. It's also no secret that, to really appreciate art music, you have to gain an understanding of it - a much greater level of understanding than is required for appreciating pop or folk music, which is inherently rooted in simplicity. And once a person has developed that deeper understanding of music, he/she learns to appreciate all music on a different level and/or from a different perspective. That doesn't necessarily mean that they only appreciate complexity - it also means that they often have a greater appreciation of simplicity and can find a lot more meaning and context in a 3-note motif or a well-written pop song than a casual, less educated observer would likely hear.

Some people might call that elitism, but it's reality. It also has no bearing on whether or not a song is considered good or bad, which is an entirely personal and subjective matter.

he is fantastic. If you don't like scot project, you have issues. Of of like 5 artists in EDM that you can actually tell it is his song without knowing the artist before hand. That is how generic EDM has become.

The problem is that everyone West of Germany just doesn't listen or get good EDM. It is rather strange. I suppose it is similar to others who just don't get it because they don't see what there is to get. It is quite frustrating.

I don't think anyone else would keep praising him every possible chance.

Here are two of my favorite classics, I love the way Bach defines chords in a fleeting, subtle way, and his great use of strong counterpoint. Im sure everybody knows this two.

cheers, enjoy.

What's the point?

Agreed

The other point is that MFB confuses his education with his own critical relevance, when outside the realms of his own small fraction of existenece it is totally irrelevant.

I still think he's sweet though.

I'd say I accomplished more before the age of 11 than you have in your life time. WOuld hardly call that irrelevant. Jaded words of a old fart whose ambitions where derailed by a fat wife and unwanted younglings. IT actually bothers me that you people diminish what education and experience bring. YOu would never argue with a doctor so quit arguing with me. It pisses me off. You aren't right so just leave it be. I"ve criticized myself constantly for the last 20 years constantly feeling I suck and you know what, I no longer have any contentions regarding fact that I am actually really good at what I do. It isn't delusion, it isn't self generated, I've worked with important people and the general consensus is that I'm aces. So stop being such a bastard you limey fuck.Sure I will learn lots more but to put it curt, my grasp of music is beyond your understanding. Not that I say this often but I think on this website, it is pretty safe thing to say. It isn't bragging as I am completely aware how limited everyone on here is. I just think your all cuddly and that is why I go here.

Are you seriously comparing a science full of facts and figures with an art full of bloated opinion?

Classic

You've made my day with that

You ask me to show great classical music and I reply that all the things that make it great would go right over your head because your musical palette and vocabulary is just not developed. It is what it is.

And I have no issues stating that the classic works have quite a bit more aesthetic value. Only an idiot would argue otherwise. That doesn't mean it is all I listen to. I have a mix tape with top 100 billboard hits for cleaning.I doubt I would ever spend more than 10 minutes dissecting a pop song because there is nothing there to dissect.

You have this idea that I am some classical nerd. Yes I know classical extremely well but I was a session player for rock , jazz , metal punk country ..... There is not one type of music I can't play. I can even play latin jazz for fuck sakes.
diverse tates shared by all i will say and im picking at the thread that is mad for bad to see whats underneath and so far ive seen your Appreciation for the arts to be merly a lifestyle way of looking at music. dont you ever think shit its spoilled the joy of hearing something classical or ohterwise?
