something about giving thanks to when the early settlers shared a meal with the indians who helped them out. The settlers then went on to slaughter all the Indians.

WIKIPEDIA -
Although Americans commonly believe that the first Thanksgiving happened in 1621 at Plymouth, Massachusetts,

While not the first thanksgiving of any sort on the continent, the traditional origin of modern Thanksgiving in the United States is generally regarded to be the celebration that occurred at the site of Plymouth Plantation, in Massachusetts, in 1621. The Wampanoag Native Americans helped the pilgrims who arrived in Massachusetts cultivate the land and fish, saving them from starvation. This harvest celebration occurred early in the history of what would become one of the original Thirteen Colonies that later were to become the United States. This Thanksgiving was modeled after harvest festivals that were commonplace in Europe at the time.

.............

We have a harvest festival in England but no one bothers with it.

No dude, you're WAY off base - they weren't Indians. We call them "indigenous peoples" or "Native Americans" out of respect for the fact that they are not from India, as the first European discovers mistakenly took them for, before we disrespected them by slaughtering them and taking their land. Somehow that turned into a two-day holiday of shoving piles of turkey and mashed potatoes into our fat asses, watching the Detroit Lions get their asses kicked, and lining up outside WalMart for 18 hours to save $20 on some plastic piece of crap made in China.

USA USA USA!!!

You know cryo I hate to say this but he was definitely NOT "WAY" off base by any means.
All you did was change 1 word then add a few irrelevant sentences about football.

THEY WERE in fact "indians", you're just assuming he meant another type of indian.
But if you ask any native american, and consult a dictionary, the terms "american indian" and "native american" mean the SAME exact thing. So who's "WAY" off base now?

Thats why when he wrote "indian", I read it as american indian, which is actually right on point. Its like telling someone their WAY off base for saying natives instead of native americans.

Robby, there's only one type of indian - those that come from INDIA, you numpto.

He was explaining the fact the label "Native Indian" is an erroneous term because the first people arriving in this land assumed the natives were indian (i.e from India) because they had darker skin and different features.

Good god man, it must be tiring having all those thoughts in your head. No wonder you write novels just to figure out what hadrware to buy for your DAW

*spoken as clearly and slowly as possible.

NO FUCKING SHIT you dumb obtuse dodobrained fuck.
Please stick to what you know best, helping people buy an interface.

First, Cryo never said "native indian" you did. He said "we call them indigenous people or native americans out of respect", which we DO NOT.
But apparently he has very sparse cultural knowledge as what he said was both obnoxious and conceited.
He SAID, that G-Con was "WAY" off base and all he did was use a shortened version of "Native Indian". Explain to me how leaving one word out is WAY off base? Because we have Indians from india too? It was "WAY" more on point then cryo implying all us Americans do is watch football and stuff our fat faces.
And I'm sure not a single person who read G-Cons post assumed he was talking about
>>HINDU<< Indians. Not to mention you don't call hindus Indians either, you call them fucking hindus. They don't study indianism. It’s a loose term that applies to more than 1 group of people.

Lastly, I work in therapy for shits sake and I know damn well what they prefer to be called. They, "indigenous" people prefer to be called either "American Indians" or "Indians" by itself, which is precisely what G-Con said. Thus, cyro AND you are both so far off fucking base you're standing in Pluto right now. There is no single group of people called "Indians". And not all Indians are hindu, same way not all Indians are native Indians.

Now please, leave me the fuck alone. You are both wrong. And cryos attempt to come off knowledgeable obviously backfired as he has no remote idea wtf he or you is talking about. Also, this consensus was done in 1985 by the US goverment, and ALL of the respondents were Native Indians. So HOW THE FUCK (cryo) is it "disrespectful" to call them Indian when they **PREFER** either that or "Native Indian"? (as directly reported by THEM in the consensus) Neither one of you are making any sense right now. Go polish up on your history skills or read the latest consensus.
