But does is do sidechain?

The full radio documentary focused on the unsung techs that gave Stevie Wonder his sound and vibe. They parted company after Wonder refused to share any royalties with them, and after that according to the narrator and interviewe's, Wonder never made as good a track again.

They then went onto talk of other unsung techy heros that were completely responsbile for famous artists sound and how ironic it is that although the artists surely had some talent, without thier 'sound' they would never have found such fame.

In the UK Jo public is under the impression that the skill and artistic output is down to the singer - but honestly I cant imagine someone like Tynchy Stryder having got anywhere at all without dedicated producers (typically with hundreds of times more time on the job than the singer has actualy spent singing) forming thier wares.

I like a heated debate........

You clearly know nothing about Stevie Wonder. You have no idea how his hits were made and you obviously don't know the sort of arrangements that were involved which really did not focus on synths for the most part other than perhaps a minimoog.

most people would agree Stevie wonder stopped making good music before his foray into synths. Why would he share royalties with a sound designer ? That was unheard of at the time. Stevies Vibe came from the classic Motown rhythm section, not these nerdy synth geeks. No offence but synths were the downfall of Stevie wonder. They did not define him in any way other than negative.

these guys aren't unsung heroes. They were mediocre musicians with too much free time and some electronics knowledge making sounds most could do with a minimoog. Kinda insulting to make such a claim against such a legend. Well the ronto and the dork that runs it can suck a lemon.l The unsung heroes are the session players at Motown that played on so many records and died in poverty. Same deal with Stacks. I fucking can't stand synth fan boys. Learn a fucking instrument you knob twisting twit.

The BBC documentary went out of it's way to praise S Wonder, but did attribute his early 70's sound to the 2 synth boys. Perhaps the BBC got it wrong.

I play piano incidentaly, but it doesn't hold my attention for long.
Prefer knobs that make cool lazer sounds.

And here's another one. Especially nice seeing those weren't even his words.

Funny... I saw Cecil perform in a home concert setting, earlier this year. They dragged our a smaller modular that was supposed to be a smaller but accurate reproduction of TONTO. I should have. some pics/videos I'll post. The dude clearly got stuck in late 60s, early 70s but not in the good way. From bell bottom pants to gray haired chestfro exposing shirt and... most boring use of synth.. ever. Actually, he did nothing with twiddling. Just used same preset all the way through the performance. I ended up leaving early to have a beer with my buddy instead.
