There's no puncture, so I don't see a ton of work, but, even if they just plan on touching it up, $800 doesn't sound ludicrous. Ask him what the shop says they need to do or, even better, ask for a copy of the quote. |
well it's going through insurance now so they will make their assessment, but i think $800 is ridiculous considering i was going 1 MPH trying to squeeze real slowly into a spot.
this isn't a new car, it's a 2004 and i am unsure of how much damage besides the streak that i actually did. how could there be "dents" plural going this slowly? i drive a volvo, not a tank and there are no signs of the incident anywhere on my car.
i will definitely consider getting a bike if this bullshit turns out to be legit.

You still hit a parked car. Your method of accomplishing that feat is irrelevant. |
yes, i know i hit a parked car, but it does make a difference if you slam into one versus going slowly.

no, you are dumb if you don't realize that there is a difference between paint that was on the car since 2004 and new fresh paint. Any legitimate bodyshop will tell you that this will create different color shading on the door.
From the pictures it appears to me that there is a slight dent/paint scratch so full repaint required. |
by this thinking, you would have to repaint the whole car because then you would have doors that are out of place with the rest of the car.
they should be able to mix paint together based on the present color and diffuse it to fit in with the rest.
