As for Canada being a dependant economy... BS... its both ways, part of American economy is dependant on the Canadian economy. For example in 2001 Canada exported for roughly 351 billion CDN to the US and imported for about 255 billion CDN.

Let me tell you that 255 billion is alot of money and jobs in the US. This represent about 164 billion USD and is the first market for American products, even more than the European Union.

Closing the border even for a week will cost billions to companies on both sides of the border.
