nice! I am considering saving up for this synth next.. I love the sounds that ferry uses, so I think this Q should be pretty usefull.

I have the supernova now, and I like it alot, it has a nice variety of leads, crazy techno noises, strings.. It's a beast, but I do think I need the Q for some variety.

from what I've heard, the Alesis A6 Andromeda is one of the most powerfull (and expensive) synths you can buy, but I havn't really heard any sounds out of it that I like.. and I don't think many producers use it, but I could be wrong

Paul,
I've talked to some people who own both the Virus and the Andromeda and they say that the Andromeda puts the Virus to shame sonically. I think you too will agree after listening to the Andromeda samples on this link http://www.code404.com/a6/audio/

Virus b = icy + crisp
Andromeda = ballsy + warm

they should make a desktop and a rack version for students like us so we don't have to rob a bank to buy an andromeda
I wished analog synthesis was cheaper

I listened to afew of those samples, they're not bad, but nothing too out of the ordinary .. it has some nice strings though.

I think the main point of the andromeda is that it's a real analog synth, not a virtual analog.
