Obviously the parents need to take responsibility, but whoever was in charge of making sure IDs were checked is liable too. She was 15 and she was inside a 16+ event. Never should have happened. You can say she was going to OD somewhere if not there all you want, bottom line is, she should have never been allowed inside to OD there. She was an idiot. Her parents are naive and just looking for a payday, but whoever was in charge of making sure people were actually 16+ fucked up, and now, they should have to pay. Not sure who, but someone fucked up. I've said this in another thread, but 15 year olds are dumb as shit, so you can't expect them not to take drugs when they hear all these fun times that "responsible" drug users have.
Her parents should have kept a better eye on her, but even though they fucked, the 16+ event should have never let her in.

And that's exactly how I feel. That's why I said that they didn't learn their lesson after EDC. They still didn't check ID's at TAO.

Sounds like they're in trouble then. They definitely did not do their job in that aspect and if the Rodriguez's parents can prove it, they'll see some compensation, and I hate to say it, but they probably deserve it. Dunno how much they deserve or who should have to pay it, but a jury of their peers will decide that.

Woody, that is really disappointing to hear about TAO. I thought for a while that Insomniac/GoVentures got their shit together after hearing good things about Nocturnal/MM. Guess it was all just a temporary show. Is letting young kids in REALLY worth it that much? Guess it just shows how many under 18 kids come to this shit - they pay for the whole thing, apparently.
In this case, I don't think they should be liable for the age limit. Letting someone in under age is not good, I agree, but it's not like letting someone under 21 into a bar. She still couldn't order drinks even if she was let into the rave. She chose to take drugs, drink water from some random person (that ended up being tainted), etc.
Now if they can prove that she died because she didn't want to leave the main area at the Coliseum, which had NO BATHROOMS and no re-entry, then I would say the family deserves something. That shit was plain negligent. My friends stayed down there the whole night not drinking any water because they didn't want to have to leave to use the bathroom. Not cool.

If this was a 19 year old, I'd agree. But I'm under the train of thought that 15 year olds are idiots and should be treated as such, and that is why an age limit that is in place should be enforced to help those idiots from making bad decisions.
I'd love to think 15 year olds know not take random pills from strangers, but as someone trying to become a teacher, I've met too many dumb ass teenagers who honestly don't know any better.
