yup, i find the vocals to be semi-interesting, but the main-lead is quite boring imo. I´ve started on a remix, we´ll see how it works out

Is that how the original bassline is?

Cause after listening to the original it goes E, G, D, A

Yours goes E, C

Sounds a little bit squashed, bass drowns out the kick a little bit, great lead that comes in before the second break

Keep at it, I'll post mines shortly!

It's a remix so I've changed a bit,

BTW the file has just been updated with the final version and now is mastered, bit less compression, considerable increase in depth and very dreamy. Curious about yours too.

To be honest I'm not sure if I really want to go with it

Theres no chord progression and everything I've tied just doesn't seem to work

Ill see what happens..

You asked me what I thought of this in the other thread, so I'll drop you some feedback. I think this is a pretty decent track. I was a bit put off when the bassline first comes in, because it has that "Oompah oompah" sound disturbingly remniscent of ultra-cheesy bouncey house. However, once I realised where it was going and it started interacting with the rest of the track it made more sense.

However, this track really goes from "meh" to "interesting" for me after the first peak, when instead of dropping the energy out completely and having a break, like so many clichéd big room records, you drop straight into the next verse and keep the groove going. It kicks the energy up and I can just picture that switch from descending chords into driving groove doing really well on a dancefloor. I also really like the short second breakdown with just the vocals playing.

I generally find this flavour of melodic proggy house a bit lightweight, but it can be very good fun to dance to if done right. I think you've avoided structural clichés and made a track that I'd enjoy dancing to and also would find a good tool as a DJ, because it would be an ideal "gear change" track. One thing I will say as a DJ though - that outro would be a fucking nightmare to mix.

sorry fella, but not your best work imo, I agree with some comments posted. I especially find it too loud, the kick is not glued to the mix.

keep it up my firend!

cheers Mise.

Good feedback gents. Mise, what's wrong with the kick in your opinion? too loud, too oomph? too clicky? not sure what you would be looking for?

Regarding the bassline, it sounds simple 8ths off beat, but it's not really that simple. I wanted a more 80ties pop feel rather than a deep progressive vibe. some trance elements in there but also some more house type groovy percussion. Weird vocals, with a weird crossover track, that was the idea. So the idea was a bit "Junior Jack meets Pet Shop Boys" if that gives some perspective, still keen to learn how you would see the kick though.

will send you a private dwonload on 44.1
then you can hear the track with full potential, SC 128bits compression is mediocre anyway
