I've noticed before he can be a bit wise crack abrubt as if he's a bit tired answering same old same old.
I guess it's like trying to ask Rembrant about his brush hair preferences over and over, and in reality his paintings result from endless minucea obsessing rather than what sort a zebra hair brushes he buys.

I really respect him, despite what other may think, excellent producer, terrific style and energy.

He's probably the first rock-star-with-attitude-type-of-person in the dance industry that is actually doing well for himself. I mean that in a good way.

pretty amazing how they were touring with each other, something perplexing here. he must have been in the industry hard before taking off.

Yeah, he definitely is. KVR has some classic hate threads as well. The funny thing with both of those forums is that Deadmau5 threads actually aren't as common as the haters say they are - it's just that the mere mention of his name in a thread title can pretty much guarantee 10+ pages of people either expressing their love, contempt, or apathy towards him. I wish my name had that kind of power.

i'll never forget the tweet joel put out that said "i have accomplished a very big personal goal of mine, i now have more haters than tiesto". tiesto wrote back with "lucky!"
there's no hate from me, he's a great producer, i don't play his stuff but it doesn't matter, it's not cheesy, it's good for the scene and in america he's opened up so many doors for so many others. Major music critics are trying to say these guys are leading the dance music revolution in the states....
I'm just thankful there's someone like deadmau5 that is just as accessible so they can hear the difference.

You what though, he's actually a really nice guy. I did a tracking session with him for an EDM track. He just wanted to do something different and lifestyle and energy suited him I think. the paralells of rock n roll culture and EDM aren't too far removed from each other.
As for Joel, I wouldn't read too much in to this or other interviews - he has a well documented talent to say the wrong thing at the wrong time to journalists. He learnt a hard lesson from this following an interview with one irish opportunist interviewer who was looking for a headline (which he got).
from what i can remember, there's actually virtually no hate for joel here in the production forum, and he used to post quite often. Problem was that he was also posting in the other section like the c0r, which are full of people just despewrate to troll, especially whenever someone even slight;y famous drops by, let alone one in the scene
