I forgot you had two X1's. Did you try new usb cables? The one going from the powered hub to your computer. Did you try swapping the connections? Placing the 8 in the other port and the X1's on the port that the 8 was in?

And you said you did all your updates on the macbook correct? I'm assuming its just a macbook.

you know what, I got it straightened out, its just the headphone cue-ing is a little screwy....

when music is played, it comes out the headphones and monitors....cant cue just one in headphones, if both a and b are playing

are you sure thats a fault of traktor and not the mixer? maybe check the headphone cue settings on the xone 42. i have a 92 and if anything similar there are several ways to cue in the headphones.

if i have a track playing in deck A, the fader controls the level in the headphones....so if im trying to just listen to deck B, and A is playing through the monitors, I hear deck A the whole time, through headphones AND monitors

thats my problem

On the XONE:42 set the headphone cue knob all the way to the left. Then press the cue button for the channel you want to preview in your headphones. You will then only hear that channel in your headphones.

beauty, I had to press some other little cue button then the cue in headphones, but your idea worked, cheers buddy
