I think most ppl get don't tattoos to cover up their inadequates or are seeking attention. In reality they lead boring lives and their only way to prove to the world (and themselves) they are wild and crazy is to avoid getting a tattoo. If you're comfortable with who you are there's a need to get one. I know I must be coming off as superior, but I think there are better ways to assert your individuality than getting a Chinese character permanently imprinted on your body. Is there a wrong reason to get a tattoo? I don't know, I guess the same question could be asked about the motivations behind breast implants. |
I usually refrain from discussing such sensitive matters but something's really bothering me about this.
I think men don't get breast implants because they're afraid their masculinity will be threatened if they do. I can't think of a single man who has breast implants who is also insecure about his masculinity. But if you ask most men why they don't get breast implants, they're liable to call you a fag or something. I know I must be coming off as superior, and even a little hypocritical as I don't even have breast implants, but is not getting breast implants any different in asserting your masculinity than getting a sports-car? I don't know, I guess the same question could be asked about the motivation behind preferences for coffee over tea.
