Oh right! I forgot that the S4 came with its own software rather than TPRO. I get you now. Yeah that would make sense then, they probably did improve the gridding algorithms.

I'm using my Macbook Pro, NI Maschine, Audio 8, Xone 62, and Maschine/TPRO software simultaneously.

Was thinking of adding an X1 so I can shed some layers of modifiers for Maschine. I don't have enough encoders to do everything I want without them!! Adding an X1 would be just right. So thanks for the feedback inrush.

I just got two x1's and I love them!....and yeah the auto beatgrid is so garbage, manually is the way to go

I would take the S1 over the Pioneer setup any day, its also $500 cheaper.

does anyone know if u can load traktor pro on multiple computers? i know u need an NI control centre login, but if u use the same login for multiple laptops, will it work?

I'll need to double check my agreement for Maschine, but if I recall correctly you can have it installed/activated on up-to 2 PC's at the same time.

So, if you had your home/studio desktop PC and your on-the-road laptop it would be fine, but trying to get it onto more than 3 would probably run into issues. Wouldn't be surprised if the licensing was similar for other NI products.

Yes, their policy is somewhere along the lines of, as long as you plan on only using it on one machine at a time. I have it on my desktop to prepare tracks as my comfy desk, my laptop to use and my GF's laptop as a backup. All activated fine.

Also, while I can't say that this upgrade sucks in any one way. It's pretty lame for a paid upgrade considering the time they've had since the last Traktor. I mean, colored waveforms is a main feature? meh, nothing overly exciting here. Remember that they've actually lost features since Traktor 3, like recording set automation, OSC, main channel efx etc, and they're still not back in.

so i just got an s4 and yep beat grids are very very very good. haven't had to fix one yet as well.

i actually phoned them up...its 2 machines per serial.
