I'm really guessing here since I have never tried this before, but try less heat but leave the record in longer ...

well...i guess it worked a little bit. i dont think its warped as bad as before i stuck it in the oven. maybe im doing something wrong. after i pulled it out the oven, it looked really warped. but the vinyl was soft, so i stuck it in its sleeve and jacket and set :
4 dictionaries
2 encyclopedias
3 huge art books
& a phone book
along w/ 5 ceramic dinner plates on top of the jacket.
all in all, i think its not worth the trouble of messing w/ in the first place.

adding to my last post:

no, the heat did not damage the record. i read somebody mention that heat would be harmful to the grooves, but it sounded perfect, with no scratches or needle jumps. [and i heated the damn thing up twice @ 170F+.

You might have to use a little more heat it's not an exact science, out of all the records I've tried it on each one has reacted differently, but it will work, however it is a lot of trouble to go through, I've only done it on records that there's no way I can replace. If I can still buy it in the store, I will cause it's not worth the effort.
