If you're going to start a review thread, start with a fcuking review FFS.

What's the difference between a promoter/dj starting a thread talking about how shit hot their party was, or posting in a thread talking about how shit hot their party was?

I've been annoyed by roll calls from obscure promoters for obscure events that never post other than their role calls

Starting a thread just shows how big their ego is. If their event was worth writing about, someone who has been there would start it already.

while I'm inclined to agree, i'd rather see this happen then people being lazy and putting their reviews in the roll call. is it REALLY that hard to start a new thread? all it requires is one more line of typing

That's why I think Roll Calls should be pulled altogether - all it does really is kill the thread for the event itself, and cause duplication of people having to reply just to say they are attending.

Yep.

The threads in the event forum should be linked/combined to the main TOTA forum thus making it easier and the event forum threads won't be so dead.

Kill two birds with one stone (and yeah sure include the 'attending' or not etc thing as well.

Yeah, simple fix would be to have all events for the week to show both in the Toronto forum, and the Event Forum. Of course, those without any replies would simply fall off the page anyways.

I probably shouldn't post in anything I'm involved in, I try to write disclaimers sometimes like "yes, take this with a bias"...

I also try to keep my opinions more about the music/ the DJ, rather then the actual mechanics of how a party went down... frustrating for me, as I know I have an obv bias, and I don't want to taint the review... at the same time I've been a ta since 2001 (lol fuck) and really want to contribute to sharing opinions on our scene...

it's funny, right after I read the Lee Foss thread I thought to myself "jeff and I are posting WAY too much in this thread, no one's gonna believe anything"... then I saw this thread started lol

California forum w/event threads mixed - LINK

California forum w/o event threads - LINK

NYC forum w/event threads mixed - LINK

NYC forum w/o event threads - LINK

...it works well in Cali, which has maintained it's non-event related threads but not so much in NYC.
