so far listened to ferry's set, and while the energy is pretty high, is it just me or is 75% of his set always the same?
i know dj's have their trademark songs, but come on...no wonder he's falling off in popularity.
and what's the deal with MC's....they even did it back in day when the events weren't broadcasted, what's the deal?? they ruin the songs.

Ferry's biggest issue with me is that his record box gets stuck. And for a couple years at a time. Happened in 2001/2002 - 2003 and then he busted out his Right of Way album and his record box became great again for awhile. Then it got stuck in 2005 until LEF came out in 2006. He came out with the Blue Moon album just a year later and and since he hasn't done too much, production wise or record box wise sense.
Wonder if he's just cruising the past few years and not working so hard when not travelling to spend time with his daughter who was born around the time Twice in a Blue Moon was released.
I imagine he'll bust out a new album with some new sound and update his record box soon.
In the end, he goes in cycles. Kinda why he seems to fade every few years and then make a roaring come back. Because his productions go down and his sets get stuck in loop. |
that makes sense. his productions are great for the most part, and he is coming out with a new artist album so we'll see how it is.

Makes a lot of sense. Saw him a few times throughout 2010 and all sets seemed very similar.

This is my exact problem with any top artist! They have the classics and the label tracks they have to push. And they play so often that it must be a pain to fit new tracks in (compared to just using the same track order)
Above and Beyond are the same way! Every time i see them it's the same 10 tracks with some other popular tracks off the radio show.
Ferry, beautiful, Punk, Right of Way followed by a few tracks of Once Upon A Night, etc
A&B, On a Good Day, Good For Me, No One On Earth, Can't Sleep, followed by tracks from Anjunadeep 3, or Anjunabeats 8
Armin, Well, you get the idea.....
I saw Ferry four times in one year, it was great, i won't see him again for about a year though..... He played some great tracks in this set though
Patterson surprised me! His style has changed a lot since the last time i listened!!!!
