I'm pretty sure this can be accomplished without any additional hardware, etc. At least based on my experience using VDJ Pro and the M1 Active USB 520 speakers.

Configure VDJ for two sound cards, the first being the USB speakers and the 2nd being your computer's audio output. Plug headphones into computer and away you go:
