The UN Security council voted on whether to support a no-fly zone and cease fire that was practically begged for by the people of Libya. The vote passed I believe 10-0 with 5 abstentions. Now the US is participating in the enforcing of that resolution, along with many other countries, including Arab nations.

Basically the US are getting the ball rolling, and are then going to hand over control to the UN.

Gracias. Thats sort of the idea I had in my head, but I prefer knowing real facts before I start getting involved in topics I am not sure about.......

No the reason the world hates the US is because we as Americans are arogant. Think are shit don't stink, and believe we are the best country in the world, and everyone should be like us.
