DVD-Audio doen't sound nice just for it's name.
I don't know about the technical stuff though.
But, if it's dedicated for music then why use such a name that's popular with movie?
SACD sounds good to me but, its logo look ugly...

ya need something more than CD for sure though... |
DVD stands for Digital Versitle Disc. The full name for the format that the DVDs that you buy in video stores is called DVD-VIDEO. The audio-only format is called DVD-AUDIO. Sure, it MAY be popular with video distribution FOR NOW but, DVDs can hold ANYTHING, just like CDs so, expect more applications to use it in teh future. In fact, right now, there is software distributed on DVDs (Playstation 2 games, Nintendo Gamecube games, Micdosoft X-Box games and software, PC (all OSs)/Apple Macintosh software, road map software for navigation devices (instead of GPS), and more) so, DON'T say that DVD equals movie because your VERY wrong. Read the DVD FAQ at http://www.dvddemystified.com/ if you want A LOT of information about DVD, the formats used on it, etc.
