Naturally I disagree. I think the Tea Party contingent is much more sensible than the politicians in office. They aren't just Republicans and I'm not sure what's inhumane about them. Look at the gist of what they want- smaller and more efficient government, accountability of elected officials, a stop to the insane amounts of borrowing and spending that's driving us over a cliff, and following the principals of the Constitution. Really, what's wrong with that? Obviously a big part of the country feels the same after the November elections that ended with the biggest power shift in 60 years. Yeah there's some sheep within the movement, some bozos dressed up like Uncle Sam and Paul Revere, but psychopathic? Compare them with the union thuggery on display in Wisconsin... death threats, physical violence, vandalism, live ammunition found outside the state house, $7 million in damage done to the property.... guess who came and cleaned up their trash from the Capital grounds? A Tea Party group. You won't find me chillin at one of their rallies, but they are getting unfairly demonized... they haven't done anything fucked up.

Inhumane meaning a large portion of tea partiers are outright racist, christian zealots who are not looking for ways to better our society in general.

I'm sure not all of them fall into this category, but you can't deny that it's pretty much the backbone of that "party".

God bless.

I added more to my post!

I know the Tea Party started with good intentions, some of which I can get behind, but at this point it's pretty much been warped into some crazy voter pool that the Republican party both fuels and pulls from.

Of course I can deny it. The burden of proof with such a claim is on the person making that claim. It's not about religion- it's about reforming the current form of government that is a festering parasite bleeding the host dry. The charges of racism are weak and bogus; there is still a $100,000 offer on the table from Andrew Breitbart for anyone that can come forward showing video, audio, or photographic proof of anything racist. The race card is nothing more than a transparent way to distract from the issues and put people on the defensive. It's so worn out.

Edit: what is the warped manner in which they have morphed into? I don't get it. There's nothing of substance to these claims.

All that tape residue right? I think even Fox admitted that number was pulled straight out of the air.

I'll tell you, precisely, who's causing your image problem:

Glen Beck, Ann Coulter, Rush Limbaugh, Donald Trump, Sarah Palin, John Boehner, Anyone on Fox News (I actually really like Shepard Smith) who's seriously accused anyone else of acting like a Nazi... I'm sure there are others.

The bottom line, Kevin, is there's now something I hate worse than a dishonest Republican. And that's an incompetent Democrat and there appear to be plenty of them.

Wrong. $6 million alone in damage was done to the marble. From Wisconsin's own newspaper: http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/news/117340918.html

I don't think there's anything new about Rush; he's been in the same place for over 20 years with the same level of exposure... he's a net-neutral effect. It's also another day another dollar with Palin.

But yeah, Beck is out there more and definitely too much for most people to handle. I'll give you that. And I'll give you Coulter and Trump too. Coulter especially pisses me off. But for everyone one of them, there's a Van Jones, Jesse Jackson, and Harry Reid on the other side throwing gas on the fire.

Hey, speaking of Fox, you don't like Chris Wallace? That dude leans left quite a bit too. Don't forget Juan Williams and Kirsten Powers are on that channel too.

Ok well find me something credible that shows clear evidence of Tea Party racism and religious zealotry being the backbone of the movement.

Michele Curran, an architectural historian for the National Parks Service who coordinates national historic landmarks in Wisconsin, said she didn’t know how the state had arrived at its damage figures.

She said certain kinds of tape can leave lasting residues on surfaces such as marble or wood if they are improperly removed. But she said only a professional cleaning service experienced in such work and familiar with the situation in the state Capitol could estimate any possible costs.

“They need a quote from a company that specializes in cleaning historic surfaces,” Curran said.

Many of the papers and banners posted in the state Capitol were put up using painter’s tape, which is employed to minimize effects on walls.
