Now I know all Republicans aren't bad, but the Republican/Tea Party seems to be governed more by psychopathic sensibilities and less by concerns for all things humane. |
Naturally I disagree. I think the Tea Party contingent is much more sensible than the politicians in office. They aren't just Republicans and I'm not sure what's inhumane about them. Look at the gist of what they want- smaller and more efficient government, accountability of elected officials, a stop to the insane amounts of borrowing and spending that's driving us over a cliff, and following the principals of the Constitution. Really, what's wrong with that? Obviously a big part of the country feels the same after the November elections that ended with the biggest power shift in 60 years. Yeah there's some sheep within the movement, some bozos dressed up like Uncle Sam and Paul Revere, but psychopathic? Compare them with the union thuggery on display in Wisconsin... death threats, physical violence, vandalism, live ammunition found outside the state house, $7 million in damage done to the property.... guess who came and cleaned up their trash from the Capital grounds? A Tea Party group. You won't find me chillin at one of their rallies, but they are getting unfairly demonized... they haven't done anything fucked up.

I'll tell you, precisely, who's causing your image problem:
Glen Beck, Ann Coulter, Rush Limbaugh, Donald Trump, Sarah Palin, John Boehner, Anyone on Fox News (I actually really like Shepard Smith) who's seriously accused anyone else of acting like a Nazi... I'm sure there are others.
The bottom line, Kevin, is there's now something I hate worse than a dishonest Republican. And that's an incompetent Democrat and there appear to be plenty of them.

All that tape residue right? I think even Fox admitted that number was pulled straight out of the air. |
Wrong. $6 million alone in damage was done to the marble. From Wisconsin's own newspaper: http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/news/117340918.html

I don't think there's anything new about Rush; he's been in the same place for over 20 years with the same level of exposure... he's a net-neutral effect. It's also another day another dollar with Palin.
But yeah, Beck is out there more and definitely too much for most people to handle. I'll give you that. And I'll give you Coulter and Trump too. Coulter especially pisses me off. But for everyone one of them, there's a Van Jones, Jesse Jackson, and Harry Reid on the other side throwing gas on the fire.
Hey, speaking of Fox, you don't like Chris Wallace? That dude leans left quite a bit too. Don't forget Juan Williams and Kirsten Powers are on that channel too.

Ok well find me something credible that shows clear evidence of Tea Party racism and religious zealotry being the backbone of the movement.
