Im going to second pretty much everything Domesticated said. I've never listened to any Suomisaundi consciously, hell I'd never even heard of it LOL. I'm not sure that, as much as I enjoyed this, I will be spending much time tracking down much more but if I see any on a festival line-up I will be sure to make an effort to go see.

Mixing wise I didnt really notice most of the transitions, it all just flowed into one another effortlessly it seemed. And I love that first track, will be ending up in a breaks mix I feel at some point

I enjoyed this a lot more than I imagined. In the past I passed off Suomisaundi as crap, but it's got more merit than I thought. It's funny, ignorant people say that dance music is for taking drugs, but this stuff is really druggy. Like Shongle or Younger Brother, it's got that short attention span, zany/wacky/goofy aspect to it which makes so much more sense when you're on acid or shrooms.

I think this is your best mix yet, mate. Interesting tunes, mostly natural mixing, and a pretty solid flow. However, the reason I say that is because there were tracks in here which I couldn't listen to by themselves, but you gave them enough context that they made sense and were more enjoyable. I think this is probably the highest compliment you can get as a DJ, too: making bad music sound good. There were things I outright liked though. There were some great drum 'n' bass-type tracks and the 'hippie with one drum' sample was hilarious. I wouldn't really listen to most of this stuff at home, but at a big outdoor party, it'd be heaps of fun. Great work.

Thank you so much, that really means a lot. The first suomi set I heard was from Magadansky (mix #4) and it was just like you described. Druggy beyond imagination, fun, interesting, and exciting. The hippie with one drum sample was from the Siaqua track, and I found that to be totally random but hilarious. I feel like that track has the essence of Suomisaundi, where there is just enough coherence to form a full track, but so much ADD going on to where the music is changing constantly. That's what I tried to do with the rest of the mix, and I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Agreed. I heard a bunch of suomi before I compiled this list, and a lot of it just sounded like regular psytrance. This kind of music is best left to DJ's who can make a whole set out of it like Mag and myself

listened to this today, splendid mix, bit rough round the edges like you said with the fluctuations in tempo..

didnt care too much for the techy-dubsteppy tracks

the track at 29mins is where the mix starts for me, feels like i am driving fast car LOL - kind of like drunk driving but much safer.

track selection good, some i probably wouldnt of chosen but hey this is your mix man good sense of direction, kind of like walking into supermarket and getting exactly what you need. this mix does that for me.

i want MOAR BEERS.

Texas fags - Back To Mad [Exogenic Records] - best track of the mix for me, it sums and divides by zero, great track.

the last two tracks is very wtf im afraid lol not sure if want.

overall trippy mix bro, whats next on the agenda?

i havent touched any new musics recently, i need to glue some sounds together. dont know what to really do. slammin' hip-hop mix or something completely random? i have some happy mondays on the go..they were constantly off their tits hahahahaa

Thanks dudebro. I think the strength of this mix lies in its randomness. You may not dig all of them, but I find that they're unique enough to sound like they work. I appreciate the listen tho. Next mix should be a tad more relaxing

Still waiting to hear from netroM, Magadanksy, and Hamid. Oh, and Ted Homo, if he feels like removing his dick from the mashed potatoes.

Well, as I mentioned earlier, I like to listen to suomi stuff when in some wicked mood. Tonight I listened although I was quite bored with nothing to do. So lets see:
+ cohesiveness, the set flowed excellently and its obvious that you put a lot of thought and imagination in it
+ technically good
+ low number of dull moments

- I dont enjoy so much suomi when bored

So all in all excellent as I expected. Be sure that when I freak out, I will play this.

Thanks Mag. Yeah, listen to it the next time you're on drugs or something, then it will really make sense
