2. Yes, sunburn is similar to 643, but still a good track and its not exactly identicle.
3. Not anyone could have made a remix of Seven Cities as good as him, his remix is by far the best version of that track.
4. His remix of Janeiro is awesome, and i dont know what the fuck your goin on about there.
5. His mixing isnt bad at all. Tiesto's is worse.
6. Armin is far from a "fag", and he is one of the main people keeping the uplifting trance scene alive.

Fair enuff you have your own opinion, but i think most members will disagree with most of your comments made there. Well i certainly do.

Firmly seconded. If Armin sounds like MIKE, then there must be tons of producers who sound similar. Bearing in mind that the equipment they use are somewhat similar which boils down to one question: Since they are sound alike, there must be a formula for trance muzik?

I would say NO. MIKE has his own definitive sound...If you ask me, Plastic Boy - Silver Bath has elements from Insigma - Open Your Eyes and Rapid Eye - Circa Forever. Does this mean that MIKE is ripping off Andy Perring's sounds?

Bottom line is that Armin, Tiesto, Ferry, MIKE....etc have their own trademark in their productions.

As for Burns, you claimed that Armin's mixing skills are shitty. I think you should get your ear drums checked every fortnightly. There seems to be too much EAR WAX accumulating, thereby causing you to warp the beats and keys.

As far as I am concerned, all 3 of the Dutch DJs are tight in their mixing...although Tiesto does mix more like a Techno DJ....well he was one before he started epic trance.

The reason why these 3 are especially successful is because they are all realtively young, with less than 10 years within the Trio. Plus, from the early 90s till now, they have been shaping up the Trance scene with their productions. Not too mention Paul Van Dyk when he was also a Techno DJ back in the days since he was about 15-16.

Check out the other thread about "Tracks that are hard to mix". Even Marco V has a hard time sometimes with his Godd 12". I can tell you that Trance is the hardest genre in the likes of progressive house, house, HHC. So to err is human...give Armin a break already....

Tell me, when was the last time you fucked up on your mix..if you do.

My sentiments exactly.

Sunburn has been critized by quite a few on this board lately. No one keeps producing top notch tunes all the time...It's all about balance.

Armin's done a pretty whole lot this year...and maybe as we are speaking now, he might be remixing or producing or even DJing....instead of sitting on his ass..watching his ass get flamed on TA.

Be sensible about what you say, that's the least you can do....

So far this year, I have been loving Armin's sets and works. As for a bad track, the closest production is Blue Fear. I've been listening to it for a hundred times and sad to say, I feel nothing for that track....

well, I was just curious what you other ppl thought. I don`t think that armin and m.i.k.e. could be compared in other cases, they sound completly diffrent.

Armin is far from a fag, he is a great dj imo, even if I personally don`t like his latest remixes of janeiro and seven cities.

We all have diffrent opinions about what`s good and not as we can see above, but I could never say that armin is a bad producer or dj.

He also remixed janiero wich i also think shouldent have been remixed, because its a brilliant old track thats should have been left to die but is now on every shelf in every local record store, the track will now be beaten to death and have no effect

Also the last like 5 live shows i heard from him...His mixing is soooooooo bad, reallly really bad man.

Armin = Fag = Im going to get my balls flamed so i think i will bail

i agree with the first paragraph

Hey DaveC, You need to let your guard down man. Fair dues i get pissed when some one starts lashing at Tiesto like-wise with you and Armin. You cant honestly say that Armins mixing is world class DJ style and like-wise with Tiesto. My thread, wich i look at now was a bit dumm due to the fact that it was going to wind people up but all i wanted to put across is that Armin 5remix of sunburn and riva sounds very familiar to Plastic Boy (dont say it doesnt) and flight 643.

Anyways, sack this, can we still be freinds man, cant be arsed with flame war and all that Freinds ?

Sorry for flaming Armin, at the end of the day he pounds Trance music out and has done alot in the music industry, amen

P.S - Stillthink im a dummass ? PM me we can arrange something.

i think avb's strenght is to make a beautiful melody powerfull with his own sounds and time is the healer just hasn't got a good melody. i think that it is a boring simple short melody, thats why avb had to bring the bassline more in front and off course then you almost get a mike song. the original is just too much crap for a great avb remix.

maybe avb is trying out some stuff, like tiesto is doing. allmost everybody is saying that he is making crappy remixes. i have to admit i dont like them either, its not my style of trance, but i dont think they are crap. i think (like somebody already mentioned in another thread) that tiesto is way a head of us in feeling music.he practicly made the whole trance-scene, his whole life is trance. i think he'd know better then us how its going to evolve. he puts stuff in his songs, remixes that we just don't hear. Maybe aren't open minded enough, i dunno. But trance doesn't have to be all epic and uplifting. There are just too much of the same songs (especially the epic and uplifting ones), thats what the whole trance scene is killing i think.

i also think we expect too much of them, they cant make a classic of every song. they are just humans like we are. give them some credit.
just dont hype every song the big names make. i got nothing against hyping, just dont hype the artist, hype the song.

avb did, with his capabilities, the most he could do with this song. i just think this song isn't that suitable for an avb remix.
i find that avb did a great job, too bad its not my kind of thing, i'm more into his remixes of seven cities, janeiro, rapture, ...

thats just my opinion

greets

btw does anybody heard of has a rip of cygnus-x - positron (avb remix)
is it any good, realy like to hear it. thx

maimum respect! im so glad you had enough (even if there toasty now) balls to say so...
i agree! same deal with seven cities classics are classics for a reason they shouldn't be touched...
im not so much apposed to the remix as i am to the VOCAL remixes
they destroy classics left right and centre like cloudwalking! there about to ruin that with new remixes i believe... i heard one in armins recent set... it was ok... but the vocal remix is gonna be fucked... i think alot of people blow his (armins) trumpet because they know he reads the boards... and fair enough hes a great talent... but maybe thats why you see everyone going onnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn about it like you say anyway!

that said armins coming to perth in october and im fucking excited!
