Skrillex is a complete gimmick. He's super alternative with all his piercings and his long hair and black framed glasses, but without the talent to back it up. He's like Deadmau5 with the only difference being that Deadmau5 actually possesses the talent to produce gold, even though he has chosen to go down the mainstream path to success rather than stick to his original talent that got him there in the first place.

It drives me insane the people who try to defend shit like Skrillex by calling anyone who doesn't like it pretentious or ignorant. Maybe you just like it and they don't, ever think of that? I'm sure nobody here has met Skrillex, and I'm sure as hell nobody knows him personally, so any judgment being made on here is based on what people have heard of his music. Given the tracks posted in this forum, there has been better music produced by nails on a chalkboard.

It's kind of interesting that you're defending his music though, since it's obviously marketed towards teenagers in the same way that emo music is. "Oh I'm a teenager and everything sucks. I hate my parents. I want to kill everybody." Blah blah blah.

I enjoy his music and I'm not a teenager. It just sounds good to me. If you don't like his music, it doesn't mean it sucks. It just means YOU don't like it.

On another note, he posted on Facebook that his hard drives were stolen and that his new album was on those drives. Sucks. He has to recreate everything from scratch. That would suck for any artist.
