Yeah, I really couldn't get it to sound any smoother than that. I don't know if it's just something about the intro to Airstream, but it sounds a little bit out for no good reason.

I'm not a trance guy anymore so I can't say this rocked my world or whatever. however, if I was a newbie to electronica, this would be a good introduction.

I see Aural Imbalance in the tracklist and I'm sold. Will definitely give a listen.

Listened to the first 40mins or so of this yesterday running home from work, totally tranced me out and made me not think about the pain of running (which was fairly considerable, 2 long weekends worth of booze, fags and general inactivity to work through). Well at least up until the mix out of firesigns. Like I said I was nicely tranced out, floating along, when I was rudely yanked back into reality by a jarring mix. I was quite disappointed and I think it even sullied my opinion of the next couple of tracks!

My walk to work in the morning is just over the hour so I was able to listen to the last hour today. As mentioned by others, from Equilibrium to the end is really good, but that section in the middle kicked off by Airstream just doesnt seem to sit as well. Its almost like the dodgy mix into Airstream puts you on the ropes and you dont quite recover until Equilibrium.

Despite those criticisms its a very good set, certainly one that will get many repeat plays. Some very good tunes in there, quite a few that will going straight into my cart. Although, considering that through labels and artists on my watch lists all bar three of them should have been past my ears Im slightly kicking myself that I only know one!!

Anyway, definitely gets the two thumbs fresh from me.

This is a totally unexpected direction from you. Will download and listen over the weekend. I'm expecting this to be fairly interesting, too, as I know almost every artist and label in the mix but none of the particular tracks.

Bordering between Trance and Progressive Psytrance and as zip wrote: nice progression. Too slow for my taste, but who cares.
The only thing was that most transitions had some minor problems with beatmatching, rest was fine.

I know the mixing isn't my smoothest, but I think that's down to EQ'ing in most cases. EQ'ing has always been my weak point, especially when mixing four on the floor. You'll sometimes hear the beats noticeably thickening during my transitions, which is one of the reasons I prefer mixing breaks - I don't seem to have the same problem as much.

I did try to be a bit adventurous with the mixing. If you listen to the full tracks you'll know I'm not just mixing the safe bits, doing boring bassline switches and other dull trance DJ techniques. I was inspired a lot by J00F's mixing, particularly when I saw him live, and the way he builds momentum and energy.

Anything but this. Ambient or at least something beatless, dubstep/something UK bass-related, melodic techno.

That said, this mix appears to be a collection of what you were listening to, rather than are listening to. And I know you seemed pretty taken with prog-psy when I posted that Twelve Hours set which finished with Black Arrow by Solar Fields.

Hi mate

I listened to this the other day with high hopes of another of ur stellar examples of 'best of genre EDM' (your breaks, dnb, and post-apocylipse ones i have so far are all yet to leave the mp3 player).

Unfortunately, and unlike the others where there are none, there are just way too many imperfections in the mixing for this to be regarded in the same ball park. I'm wondering if that's because trance relies on longer transitions than those other genres, or because of the bpm? Some of the transitions were fine of course; it's just that there are a few shockers too which i thought warrented a re-recordeing.

As for the music, it DOES live up to your usual high standards, with plenty of atmosphere and non-overblown euphoria. The direction is also very professional and logical (albeit completely linear). If the mixing was as good as usual, it would have an amazing flow. I reckon that the mix may have benefited from just 1 non-square-psy trance anthem in the latter half. Maybe something crom the joof label? Thats just personal taste though.

Another thing worth mentioning is that unlike your other mixes, i am very familiar with these tunes which of course makes it more tricky to impress. It is obviously good and i can see it being a worthy intro into this style of trance
