$1500 is that USD, Euros, or Pounds? Either way, $1500 is way more than enough to get you started. You can buy a 2nd hand pair of CDJ 800 MK2, and a used DJM 400 for that price. I don't remember where it is, but if you do a search, somewhere in this forum there's a big graph that explains all the equipment for entry level DJ's.

USD. Yeah I just want a good setup. I don't mind paying a bit more as long as the gear is top stuff. And please do hit me up if you find that graph. Would really like to see it.

Also I think at some point you have to decide what you want to be: A DJ that has a unique way of playing/track selection or a DJ that plays exactly(!) what people/club owners want to hear.
The thing that always stops me from getting really active is, that I don't want to drop by every shity party to get to know owners/promoters/important people of the scene/etc. just to push my name into the scene.
Anyway, good luck!

every club has cdj i would think yes. just bring your cds. i dont know about CD quality but some claims you shouldnt be burning them faster than 8X speed. i have no idea why this would be though, try google it, it doesnt make sense to me. as i say im not a dj, i dont use cdj anymore as i found it boring to burn out cds. i prefer vinyl mixing in my home because its all there but if i were to go to a gig i wouldnt bring vinyl simply because its heavy, it skips easily and in bad clubs it might even feedback the sound. and laptop, well i wouldnt bring 1000-1500USD to the club imo. so im left with the opinion that CDs are still best for djeing unless you are a rich fuck who can set up a real act with computers, samplers, mixers, turntables and all that shit (like speedy j - youtube him and youll see an awesome computer setup that costs like 10.000USD).

Instead of asking what to use and do, how about doing some research what a DJ is. Then what are the equipment for, What equipment will suit you best and etc.

Seems like you want god like info that will make you jesus pose drunk with vodka every weekend.
