I was also disappointed, because I expected something totally different from Sasha. To me, this compares to Oakenfold and his Debunka CD.

i gotta say all of the tracks that Sasha produced are outstanding. i knew long before that Sasha wud one day produce these tracks if you listen closely to Sasha's style since the early days, he always has been that unique DJ that put some kind of different electronic gender which included ambient sounds all the time. i think this album summarize all of previous his times that he has spent djing is this a new direction for Sasha? i think not but its definately shows wat Sasha really luvs the most and why it took him so long to produce these tracks (many reasons why), and i still think that Sasha will continue to play wat he luvs, but i dont think that most of his tracks will be played by most DJ's, expect Wavy Gravy, which many DJ's already play (Hybrid, Adam Freeland). so overall i wasn't surprised by his album, but my expectations where met (to some people his sounds are new )...which is my fav out of them? its gotta be Magnetic North, i just keep coming back to that track all the time when i wanna listen to the album.

You are either being sarcastic or you are just plain ignorant. Sorry if its the latter.

I wasn't being sarcastic or ignorant....I stated how I feel about the CD. I listened to the whole CD, and it doesn't apply to my taste of music. I'm sure that there are styles of music you don't like, but people don't call you ignorant because you give it negative reviews.

I will say this: I have listened to music that I thought sucked the first time around and liked after listening to a few times. I'll listen to this CD again to see if it grows on me.

its funny how people on this site say that they like Sasha a lot and he's amazing on the decks, bla bla bla, and then when it comes to the real conversation over an album he produced, none of you actually like it, and you just dont know wat to say expect a few words that you always say for a song (its great, sick, etc) now that is wat i call IGNORANT and some of you compare the album to Oakenfold's Bunkka now that is like being a real moron

i just think this CD is not somethin everyone or anyone expected him to do...they expected a GU013 style CD and thas not it...i'm happy Sasha released a CD he likes and didnt just do an album that he thinks people will like...he released somethin that he was happy with but that others are not...on Oakenfold though...he seems to have released a CD he thought people would enjoy but how he could be happy with it is i dont know...i didnt expect ANYTHIN from this CD...i knew it was gonna be different from his mixes...why?...because this would be the way he interpreted his music...just listenin to his Xpander EP u can tell he doesnt want to stick to one set standard...

the reason i love Fundamental so much is because i'm really gettin into breaks now and everythin from the bassline to the kick and synths used throughout the song is mindblowin to me...hahaha...

the whole album is an experience and a journey on its own...just the layers Sasha uses really shows u how he likes his music...the reason alot of people dont like it too much is because its everythin, from ambient to new wave to breaks to progressive to trance...just not everyones style...

Maybe I need to clarify my point (I won't flame on you for saying I'm like a real moron): Both Oakenfold and Sasha took a 180 degree turn when they put out these CD's. Do you honestly believe that if most of their fans had never heard these CD's, yet went out and purchased them expecting to hear the usual stuff, they wouldn't be disappointed? These is an intelligent question....no flaming please.

BTW, my point wasn't to say Sasha's CD is on the same level with Oakenfolds; my point is that they are going to confuse their fans by taking a left turn when the fans expected a right.

guys i dont come here on tranceaddict to flame people thats just childish. again for most of the people on this site (im not talking about people that know their shit), Sasha made a album that wasn't surprising. i stated already if you listened closely to his early sets from the 90's till now you wud have noticed that he has his own style of electronica. GU picked him coz he is a unique DJ that has his own taste, just like all other GU DJ's. again I KNOW that Sasha's style isn't something you hear everyday, and i heard before many times, his style is just complex. its hard to understand, yes many of his sets aren't that danceable coz their all about MELODY not beats. Sasha in his album used mainly Ambient. all ambient songs are made with small bass (not beat) and sometimes a little 4X4 beat or just a break-beat. see there's so many complex ambient songs out their, that sometimes when you listen to them its a guitar instrument playing, some trancey sounds added to it, and a bass. but then you think, is that really ambient or another gender. i think that Sasha is still exploring of wat he's able to do. Sasha is already a well known DJ in the world and everyone out there will go buy the album. sooner or later eveyone is gonna really like it
i really can't see how you can compare Oakenfold's Bunkka to Airdrawndagger. Bunkka is an album that was made for the american's coz Oakey thought that i wud make a big hit there its a really poorly structured ablum. Airdrawndagger = quality.
