-Instead of playing it on a 300.000W soundsystem with 3d visual effects play it on a 50W speakers, daylight, no effects.

That set is incredibly crappy isn't it?¿ Techno (and don't kill me plz) isn't more than kick snare hats and a bass (and yet please understand what i mean) but works incredibly well on big sound systems, visuals make the difference a lot of times.

With music really works in a similar way besides it shouldn't

My partner in crime thinks I ought to hit the road with him at long last so I'm pondering this whole DJ lark for the first time. I noticed in the first vid here that the DJ gives off quite a decent vibe with his body language. I noticed this a lot with SVD too.

So being able to nod the head in the right way is real important eh?

there are some "stupid" things like clapping during breakdowns, jumping like a monkey or making hearths with the hands that are indeed stupid but help to get people into your set, a dj that keeps looking to a screen and doesn't connect with the crowd isn't a good dj, there are extremes of course David Guetta does nothing apart from this, but if you seem excited during the build up people will be, you are the leader of the pack, you rule over their movements.

Not that I've ever been, but the smoke machine on videos in Amnesia sounds ridiculous. Totally drowns out all music. Actually kills a lot of atmosphere and tension having a white noise blast go off at random intervals.

dont even know where the bloody thing was shooting from, you cant see for a few seconds lol - its okay at certain points in the night but sometimes it was a bit on the random side alright.

we live in a world were appearance is very important, if you dance to something that in the common conception isn't cool you aren't cool, you are a freak.

This way you don't have to put effort on the production process but in the marketing because if it is popular it is going to be good for 90% of the people.

The bassline sounds like two different basslines playing off each other.

EDIT: This doesn't sound like that massive of a bassline. As other people said, it's the club that made it sound massive.

first time i played one of my tracks in a club i was really impressed, the kick was peaking at 0dbs or something like that because red lined the mixer (my first production you know) but at the same time it sounded overhelming but in a good way, i think i only noticed the white noise crunchs on top of that to be honest
