Yeah, the more I think about this the more I think its bullshit.

Its strange too, because their entire business model was becoming more centred on putting out sample packs/soundsets for their KORE product, to the point that they even had the guitar rig player thing doing something similar, which they just released more add ons for. Now they're going in the opposite direction with kore, but still bringing out more "player" type add-ons for their other products.

While I support them moving to bring out more original instruments and less sound sets, I really don't know where they think they're going by just dropping a product that they were pushing hard a few months ago at such short notice, especially when they're expecting people to pay another $450 to upgrade to their new solution. With no EDU discount, that's a real chunk of cash that I think would better be spent elsewhere for me right now.

Their direction is really confused IMO and I think I might NOT upgrade to Komplete 7 as I was planning to earlier, since I'm not really keen on the way that they're doing business.

read your review of it--wish you had spent it on something else NI related?

The official line from NI is that they have bettered the maschine crossgrade offer to $399 / €349 & it looks like the sound packs that were pulled, will be making a come back in some shape or form

Its still too expensive. A $50 cut makes no difference to me at the moment.

In case you missed the email, NI kept its promise of delivering 64-bit Kore by the end of they year - Kore 2.14 was released today. AFAIK the Kore Player has not been updated to 64-bit yet, but I would assume that it's not far off.
