I totally agree! Though us North Americans might think HMV is a weird choice, in the U.K. these stores have a massive vinyl section! When in London I was quite surprised to see that, especially the HMV on Oxford Street, wowie nice trance selection there.

Yes, HMV here sucks.....the best HMV I've been to in Canada was Montreal....but no vinyls!
I like the stuff they carry (more underground producers), I also like the fact that they tell you if an item is not in stock the minute you add it to your cart. Shippng is quick for me, since they are in NY, and I'm in DC...every order I've placed arrives at my door 2 days later. They give you free shipping if you order over $70
Dance Records is also pretty good, they have free shipping for orders over $50. Shipping took about 5 days from Cali to DC.
Locally, I sometimes go to the Yoshi Toshi store in DC...its a little pricey, but they have some cool material. I usually prefer to buy online.

u4ea, I just checked Satellite Records out of curiosity, and it seems to me that the shipping costs are a bit too pricey!
"The least you can expect to pay for one record is $8.00"
Plus they add $2 per record for "packaging and handling" costs. Which adds up in the end.
How much do you usually end up paying for shipping, u4ea?

Since vinyl is so damn addicting, I usually pass over the $70 dollar mark, hence free shipping for me most of the time.
However, I did have an order about 2 weeks ago, where I only ordered 5 records that totaled $31.75...my shipping for this order was $6.69.

Seriously? That seems to be a lot cheaper than what they say on their site. What about that extra packaging fee or whatever? Do they charge you that?

Only online for the past 6 months, but I r thinking of going with my friends to some of the stores, coz they have picked up some NICE choons for very low prices (like £3)
Yes, I believe that $2 cost is a one time charge for the box/envelope that the ship the records in. I think they add 2 bucks if you buy 3 ($25 minimum) records or 75 records (maximum). Then they add the UPS postage after that.
If you are looking for some different/underground stuff, check them out. They have samples of all of their vinyls. Give them a try sometime.

I thought they mentioned that they will charge $2 *per record*, but I guess I'm wrong. If the selection, price, and shipping time is good enough I'll try them out. They look very professional by the way their site is composed and organized, and hopefully the shipping will be quick as they are in New York. (quicker than ordering from overseas hopefully)
