Actually, they do. Busting silos, which is what Trident would be best at, does require accuracy.
The Soviets made up for this issue with numbers. They planned to put 2-3 warheads down per silo, ground bursts, in the 700 to 1000 kiloton range. There are a lot of Silos in Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Colorado, and Wyoming... and there used to be a lot more back then (including in Arizona, Arkansas, and a few other states).
