Pop trance is already popular among teenagers in the USA.
Another genre that is very popular here is electro house and dubstep.
Regarding quality trance, I am still looking for good club scene in the US that play serious trance music.
Let me know if you find something interesting.

Cover old pop hits with supersaws.
Or, wait. It's been done.

Video games is the very best tool out there that encourages the common being to get involved into something. Look up the game Rez, it's a futuristic, colourful rail shooter that moves along with the soundtrack. You can even plug in a separate vibration device that rumbles along with the beat called, hold on, Trance Vibrator.
Aww man that game rocks. I had the domestic and imported the Japanese version with the Trance Vibrator. Gamestops in the US only receive one copy per store if that; it was so rare. The "Trance Vibrator" was like a having three dualshocks. I used to put it under my couch or under my nuts lol.
I also have the CD soundtrack because it just blew my mind. Trance, Techno, Ambient, Industrial, it had a dynamic EDM soundtrack. Ken Ishii and Adam Freeland tracks were great. Adam Freeland - Fear (Rez Edit) was my favorite.
This was good as well.
Tetsuya Mizuguchi made awesome music games: Lumines and Space Channel 5. There is a new game kind of like Rez called Children of Eden. Haven't played it though.
