lol yeah, just unscrew the sump plug and flush it through

i hated being skanked all the time at the garages so i bought a few books...

it also helps if you know someone whos into motors, often they can source you cheap parts and sometimes labour.

Many dealership mechanics also work on commission. Maintenance is a cash cow for sure, but the financing dept is where the real money is made.

It was probably the Oil filter he was talking about, i always change it when i change the oil in the engine.


I know alot of mechanics and they see this all the time. The thing that has caused alot of concern in modern cars with cramped engine bays is the cost to change a lightbulb. Trust me, on some cars its a nightmare. And therefor it cost alot just to change a friggin bulb.

Quite, I've done this with my local dealership! Took my car in for a scheduled service and when I went to pick it up they gave me a list of things they'd also swapped out gratis because my factory warranty was up in a couple of months and they wanted to make sure Mercedes picked up the tab instead of me a little later down the road.
