Mannerisms I picked up? Hmm...

• Table sitting: Got this from a couple of professors I had as an undergraduate. Whenever I'm giving a lecture/presentation in a classroom, I feel a strong urge to sit on the table. Makes the atmosphere much more informal and cosy, in my opinion.
  
• Jew Fun Shout: I love to tell stories and, apparently, people like to listen to my stories just as much. The problem, however, is that after watching one too many Jewish comedians, I now tend to speak louder and louder - or emulate a loud speech, with a higher than usual pitch, when I have to be quieter than usual - until I arrive at the punchline. It's more of a Jon Stewart's revolted scream, rather than Jerry Seinfeld's humorous cry.

I hijacked "dumb blonde" from my mother who will just zone out when you try to insult her or argue or teach her something. It only works irl because it has to do with the eyes. You just let them glaze over. And smile pretty. Kind of lose focus.

I hijacked "my brain is too busy to deal with you" from the chair of my department at school. When people annoy you or assault you with petty grievances, you just do slowly, "oh, huh um, oh, I just figured this out... oh wow, can you check back with me tomorrow? I just figured this out...I want to address it...I think I solved something."

the worst part is he's not any good at it, he just kind of whines and goes "EEEEEEEEEAAAA GET TO THE CHALPER!!"

When i'm with a group of Quebequois, i start speaking like them. If not, i usually speak proper French.

I've noticed that around different people I'll talk slightly differently. I don't talk ghetto around ghetto people, but instead of saying "hey how are you doing tonight?" or something like that I'll say "yo what's good man"
