eminim's a prince. well, in his earlier day anyhow. he's a very unique rapper n his style, totally eccentric compared to anybody i've heard. i've followed him since the early days while he was still considered dre's prodigy, n listenin to all his older songs which many he'd collaborate with a lotta underground rappers, he was definitely a revelation for the scene.

but ever since the exposure, like many artists, hitting mainstream top 40, they somehow convert to catchy tunes to maintain that commercialism. which is degrading for the genre [all genre's. for e.g. what many of u believe oakie's doin to trance] as it doesnt become just about the music. making "the benjamins", becomes n plays a factor and a concious awareness of creating an appeal to that mainstream crowd. though of course, none of us like that conversion to mainstream, its not to take away his credibility as a rapper as he's damn good, jus as oakenfold was, or is still a great pioneer for trance =)

He's just as hypocryt as the American government, with the difference that he's on 'our' side, although at first it doesn't look like that

When I'll rap as good as him and make as much money as him I'll start judging him as a person.

As for now - I like to listen to his stuff every now and then but he's not my fave.
He's got some excellent tracks but some total garbage as well...

Shame / Disagreement

Those of you who think he's not a good rapper obviously don't know SHIT about rap music. Damn Europeans.

Eminem is the best rapper around now. Nobody can touch him. Name someone... you can't can you? Only one who comes close is Dre from Outkast.

eminems purpose is to offend as many people as he can and he has obviuosly been successfull then! just look at this thread! if he didnt offend anyone what would he possibly be able to rap about?! people always fall for these marketing ploys! grown ups hate him so what do kids do, oh wait my parents dont like him so ill listen to him just to piss them off! hes not stupid hes put there to make money and hes doing that because people flame im so it immediately makes him cool to kids! i dont find him offensive, i find him hilarious becuase every one who flames him gives him new stuff to write about!

the sad thing is people judge him as an artist by the select songs they play on the radio, and as a person by the image created for him by MTV and the media.

eminem is extremely talented, noone can doubt that. if you don't think he is a good MC, you are either know nothing about hip hop, or you don't like him because he's white.

eminem got alot of popularity because he is white, but didn't get alot of respect because he is white. its a two sided issue. very few black people respect him.

if you don't know how Eminem is a good MC is that he can actually freestyle long and complex flows that are funny and actually make sence. if you listen to most rappers they either say interesting things but cannot flow, or they have mad flow but what they are saying is dumb and doesn't make sence. Emimem is on another level from most rappers, just listen to the D12 album, or the parts of the Marshall Mathers LP with other people in it. He makes the other people sound rediculous and horrible, everything flows so well and naturally.

btw: my favorite stuff from him is the Marshall Mathers LP, fuck the emeinem show.

One reason I like him is that he can freetyle like no other. He was all over detroit freestyling all the timeway back. Definatly hilarious. He has got some solid beats and funny lyrics.

But one rule is do not take him seriously. He is an entertainer, that is it. He is not there to speak the accurate truth. He is much like a comedian. If you ever get to watch his intervies on MTV defending his music, you will see how childish his mindset is, but someone tells him what is going on in the world and he raps about it.

SO he is good at what he does. Respect/

id say 2pac was a better rapper! but 2pacs raps were "more serious" than Eminems raps! cos Eminems id say are just pure comedy! i dont mean that in a bad way i just mean that he doesnt rap about gangs and stuff the way 2pac did but he does stuff like the bin laden video stunt! i mean come on that was hilarious and i dont think it was meant to be offensive to Americans but to actually try and take the piss out of the guy who did so much damage to america!
