If you are trying to build a successful night, the crowd will be as important as the music and everything else to be a success. If people come and the place is filled with frat boys, chances are they won't be coming back. Even a 2$ entry will help weed out some of these...you would be surprised at how some people are really not willing to pay even that. You do this to keep them away, because they wouldn't be bringing anything interesting to the table either way. |
The place very rarely has a cover, but I've never seen a "crappy" crowd there. I mentioned the prospect of a free drink or something else to the first x number of the people in the door, and the promoter liked that idea he needs to talk to the owner of the place to see if she's down with it as wel..
