times like these wish i did not own a home. Lucky, rented a generator to run my sump pumps, or else a flooded basement. Family member (brother) owns beach house in Ocean City ,NJ so we shall see that damage Monday.
Traffic is BRUTAL in South Jersey, as people leave AC and shore areas south of that. All set with my coolers, beer, Vodka ,etc...bring it own. Im home and not going out. Decks will be going all night long

not going to lie but the media is not hyping this up at all....
I lived through and rode out a Category 5 hurricane in 2005. When i was on vaca in Cancuun in 2005, they told us at our resort that we are goin to be evacuated to a shelter because of a tropical storm on the way. The tropical storm went to a category 1 hurricane(60-70mph winds) to a category 5(175+mph winds)
this stuff is no joke and should be taken seriously....unlike a snow storm

Not to downplay, but that's in the tropics where the warm water gives hurricanes power. It's not going to magical jump up in strength. Cat 5 vs Cat 1 is a huge difference.

yea it feeds on warm water
they said the water temp in ny/nj is like 70ish
so chances are it might get weaker by time it hits land up here
to me it's just another day, iam suppose to go to work
but if the roads are flooded and cant go then i cant go
iam not gonna panic...it is what it is
it will be a shitty weekend...but we will all make up for it next weekend at e-zoo

I'm hoping everyone is safe out there. It looks like I'll stay home for the weekend but might visit a friend at Fort Lee before it hits. I now heard that there will be a driving ban at NJ after 8pm. Is this true?
