7 minutes? that is foul. 75% of all my trance mp3s are over 7 minutes.

You have a full 12 minutes of code.....
so you can play any file that is up to 12 min long.
(if it's longer tha 12 the music stops)

For maximum scratchability the grooves are wide like a extended 12"

Some of the test pressings we have done are 33rpm on one side & 45rpm on the other....
These records are approx 12min on 33rpm side and approx. 6min. on the 45rpm side

And the 45 rpm is maily(sic) for the feel and torque (just like a normal 45 the speed is fast but the music is the same normal rate)

If your song is longer than 12 minutes... You have two choices... One Split the File into parts and mix them 12 minutes at a time. In the future we may release extended mix vinyl with 20 min of timecode on one side (but these do not scratch well, just like a full length album on vinyl does not scratch as well as a 12")

No, no, no! Final scratch works with turntables (and a special record that they supply you with). You connect your turntable output into a little device which connects to both your computer and your mixer. Final scratch allows you to manipulate mp3s by using your turntables. Eg scratching, backspinning etc.

i asked DJ's Depot (in Brampton, Ontario) about it and the guy said that they don't carry Final Scratch, which has a failure rate of 100% when it came out in England (what about the prototypes Richie Hawtin and Chris Cowie have been using in their gigs?). he then told me that Serato Scratch is overall better, has less latency blah blah.. and that they'll have it as soon as it comes out.

but even with Final Scratch, purists (i.e. assholes) would still complain that it's too geeky, and that you're spinning a phony record (now that fucking pisses me off ). what i'll do though, when i get Final Scratch (or Serato Scratch), is to spin MP3s in tandem with normal vinyls. besides not having to carry a crate of records around, i think the real benefit is to play your own production or remix right away. you start working on a song in the morning, finish it by the evening, and play it before the crowd that night. faster than cutting your own acetate, even if you have a vinyl cutter in your studio. but to withstand a hot, humid, dark environment like a club, you'd better enter the DJ booth with a Panasonic Tough Book.

I say rage against the machine and stay with real vinyl.

claw..thats practically stealing music. i have mixed feelings with final scratch, it could make a dent in the music industry in terms of income wise but who would spin at a club and bring there laptop? how lame can you get lol

it sounds illegal as hell the way you put that. the point is that you purchase your music then upload it into your computer/laptop then use it

Dude, Josh Wink and Richie Hawtin both use Final Scratch, If you read the reviews on the official site, Lots of up and comming DJs are praising it.
