I would be really into that idea, and it may just motivate me to actually get something recorded.

I've been messing with a mix for a bit now that seems to fit that mold.

I get your point, but the only way to have countered that would have been to extend the intro to the Blue Motion track, which would have been a lot of work to correct what I feel is a very minor flow issue.

yea, but when it dropped the introductory section was perfect. really built up the energy. no other criticisms. selection was especially well done considering the sound.

Thanks. By the way, what do you mean by "considering the sound"?

the sound you tend to work with is very full, and it is so because of the production techniques used in the studio. those techniques also tend towards certain kinds of melodies and harmonic moves that the sound suggests (what direction to flow into, how the flow should develop). so your mix is ideal because it carries out that "manifest destiny" within the sound (itself cross-genre). it's something i try to do all the time with weirder/darker tracks -- when you bring that sound out, then, no matter the genre, the vibe is always uplifting, invigorating.

those cross-genre mixes on posted on TA are almost always the most interesting. the caveat is that this type of thing is much harder to do when you are sticking to something specific within a genre.

I have no grand plans for this, but it would be nice if it turned into a thing people tuned into to hear a wide variety of interesting music played by DJs who aren't bound by the usual limitations of the trade.

so here's that mix i was talking about :

didn't come out to fitting within the standards of your project though..

Nice mix, I look forward to the next ones. Kind of a bummer that they are so short, I wouldn't have minded if this first one carried on for another 20 minutes or so

Cheers. Some will be longer, this is about as short as they will get.

Very nice, fit the mood you were shooting for well, nicely mixed, and a great selection of stuff I've been digging into myself lately.

Looking forward to future installments.
