Lol. Don't know what it is, but there's a lot of people trying (and failing) to shit-stir recently but it aint working.
Alfi - integrated GPU's is standard terminology that refers to non-videocard GPU's and in this case is absolutely correct.
Do try to keep up.
@Richie - why 4 screens though? When I was working on RFK, they gave me the largest Apple Cinema display to work on and it can't be much smaller than your 4 screen combined. Though about just getting one cinema display instead? Would also solve any Vid card issues you're having....

I hear you but, 4 screen mounted vertically, placed next to each other though are the nearly same thing as one fuck off hi res widescreen and no need for extra videocards.
I swaer to god while working on that film I was pulling 20 hours a day, 6/7 days a week for 3 months and my eyes didn't get tired of looking at that apple cinema display.
Multiple screen are a must have if you have space, but sometimes I look at people using multiple small or even medium screens and think why not just get one or two fat ones.

its just not the same. Having different screens forces certain elements to certain monitors which is bad in some cases but for this good. I can maximize say a page in sibelius and it will only take up that screen. Not to mention I started off with 2, then 3 then 4. But having 1 big screen would not be good for traditional scoring. At least for me.And these particular monitors are great as they allow you to bend them as you can see in the pic so that you don't suffer neck strain despite the vertical height. That is one thing the giant mac display won't do. Well i mean you can always get a stand.
For the production side, i just have 2 normal lcds horizontal. |
I don't get it. Maybe it's a psychological thing for you seeing the separation of the actual screens, but you can size the window of any program to fit a zone. OK, so I get that you can just click the maximize like with a small screen (on a big one it will take up the entire thing if you do that) but other than that minor complaint i can't see the difference? Am i missing something?
And yes eddie, it sound like Rich's video cards aren't playing nice.
