I've never heard these things in use but always drooled over thier adverts. It's very interesting to read comments like these - perhaps I can fell whole again afterall.
Also - slightly off topic, but Future Music rave about things like the Abbey Road plugins, for I've just had this hunch that it would be £250 pretty much down the pipe. But someone must be buying all this stuff thinking it will give them an edge?
Future Music talk a load of bollocks at the best of times.
I remember them reviewing Cytomic 'The Glue' at one point and it was in one of their mini reviews. It scored ok, but for it's £99/$99 price (or whatever it is) it should have been front page news. If it was a Waves or UAD plug it would have been a 10/10 even though it would have been 2-3 times the cost, but I guess they advertise more right?

I once had a UAD card and Powercore Firewire, and i'm pretty glad to be rid of them tbh. There really is no need these days, and for UAD to be 32 bit only really is laughable.
I used to own a focusrite liquidmix myself and it was horror. It functioned well, hardly any technical issues other than a windows 7 related drivers issue. The unit was rock solid and performed well.
When using it though, it slowed the loading process of music projects. Loading/initializing plugin instances on the unit just took too long and frustrated me. The fact that it didn't stand out (sonically) amongst the software I already own made my decision to sell in final. Never even thought of the thing until now so I can't say I miss it. And yes, if a recall correctly it was rated quite well and advertised plenty.
If less is more think about how much more more would be.

another gripe which i don't quite get is why they haven't made a convolution reverb seing as such reverbs already introduce latency so that caveat isn't an issue and that is the one thing if I mix i have to offload to another mac. I suppose the answer is that there is no analogue oldschool super cool equivalent and secondly , the cards do not have enough power.

Cut your losses already, man. There may still be someone out there foolish enough to give you money for them.
Digidesign say the writing on the wall, UAD should as well.

You'd make a terrible dealer. I bet you'd end up banging all your own gear and not sell a gram.

some codeine with your glenlivet. For desert, we are serving a seasonal lemon tart a la mode with a sprinkle of ketamine ,vanilla with a dash of purified crystal.
Maybe make some christmas stockings with a few grams. Champagne and coke ? its a jersey thing.

I'll have to add that I sold my UAD-2 Quad back when it was at 5.7 with every plugin up until the EP-34 Tape Echo Plug-In. It was a full ard with every plugin to date. Sold it for around $3400 but I paid closer to $1700.
Amazing plugins, best in the business, no doubt. But $$$. My biggest gripe was that they would come out with "THE MOST AMAZING DIGITAL EMULATION OF ANALOG EVAR!!!!".. and then a few months later... "THE BIGGEST THING SINCE YOU EVER THOUGHT ABOUT USING DIGITAL PLUGINS, YET AGAIN"... etc.
Not to say that each plugin isn't amazing, but I'd rather they stuck to a set of a few dozen plugins and continually worked on them, perfecting every last bit rather than constantly trying to one-up their last project. Makes keeping up with them really annoying and pricey.
