sad but true, DJs are really good at looking like they're doing shit when they're not. and, honestly, IMO, trance djs are the worst offenders usually (pretending to do shit when they're really not)

the best part about that picture is what we don't see:
none of them have pants on and they're all crossing swords.

Lol, that would be true if they all didn't have vaginas.

Seriously, that bunch stepping up to the decks is aout as close to a nightmare as I can get.

That level of fist pumping and fake knob twiddling would even make Peter Hook embarrassed.

At least trance DJs smile and clap and stuff.

Truthfully, there's a reason the whole "DJ as the center of attention" thing is weird... they spend most of their time picking songs and/or standing there. There's nothing wrong with that, it's just that when hundreds of people are looking at you for entertainment, you have to do something.

Remember when the DJ booth was over in the corner and the crowd didn't look at the DJ and actually looked at each other (or the lasers) instead? Those days are gone. :/

that's why i love the really dark type of places, like public assembly in nyc (bunker parties!) where you can just get lost in the music. or, if what you want to do is stand closer to the booth and watch the dj practice his craft, you can do that too and have a great time.

Sometimes it takes 4 hands (at Pacha NYC):

...and sometimes only one!

Yes, you got me, all of my pics are posed. Always have been for the past 7 years.

The thing is, this was an open DJ booth, so it was just DJs playing whenever they wanted.

The booth is pretty high up, so you can't really see the equipment, so they were actually doing stuff, and not showing off A majority of the people in the club can just see the DJs themselves; all my shots were me pretty much standing on my tip-toes and stretching my camera over a barrier.

It was pretty much an AN21 & Max Vangeli set, then a Steve Angello set, but everyone just decided to hop in and do whatever they felt like. One of the benefits of working together regularly is you can do random stuff like that and not mess up a set.

And the downside of why all of their sets sound exactly the same... Same sound, same style, same tracks, same bpm, same country, same faces, same hair, same...
