Matt Darey's Live PA

I just saw Matt Darey & Marcella Woods do a live PA at a local club here in Perth. She sounded awesome, and didn't in anyway sound poor live. Marcella's rather sexy too! She wore this insane little Union Jack skimpy outfit and a long cape.

They performed Liberation & Beautiful, and a Track I haven't heard of yet. Perhaps a newey or promo? It wasn't as good as the other two though.

As for afterwards, Matt Darey played the usual boring Hard House, which I was surprised about, because I thought he was a Trance DJ. He didn't even play any of his remix work!

But "Romp" don't let this distract you from going! I figured he played Hard House because the resident DJ here always plays Hard House, so maybe he figured that's what Perth's into, but this shat me to tears Because I'm sick of Hard House, and I was hopefully going to hear some good Trance, from him, and the tunes I was hearing were no different. That was disappointing.

yeah unfortunately Hard House is the stock here in a lot of Sydney clubs as well, to hear 1 trance track you have to hear 10 HH tracks, but this club is one of the more trancey ones so hopefully he will spin some trance

Hmmm....if u click that link that Romp posted u can hear clips of Matt Darey's 2 new tracks: Mash it Up and Big Bad Bassline. Mash it Up is pretty good, but u can hear how the Warp Brother's "Phatt Bass" has gotten to his head though...

OK guys, I went last night, and he was awesome!

Started off with Marcella Woods who was standing on a small platform which was right on the dance floor, so she was right in with the crowd (and of course I was up the front wooo!). She performed Liberation and Beautiful and really got the crowd going, and I dont think I was the only one that was close to tears it was so beautiful.

Then he started his set and it was very good, nice mixture of some hands in the air trance and some harder stuff as well. Am not a dj myself so I cant really comment too much on the mixing but I didnt notice anything wrong with it. The crowd was totally going nuts and he was really into it as well. Marcella Woods also came down and danced and chatted to everyone which was great, she was nice, and when Matt Darey finished his set he also came down to the dancefloor, chatted to a few people, I had a chat to him and he was a really nice down to earth guy, I asked him if it was true he had only been djing for a short time and he said "yes, only 3 months"! Then he talked a bit about how he was a producer etc, really nice guy!

Anyway if he's only been djing for 3 months then I'm sure he can only get better, one to watch out for in the future.
