True, got VCC as well and it works fine, gives a nice effect to mixes, BUT it's not to be compared with a real desk.

And that's my point, the emu's bring something to the table, something that's perceived more pleasant than without. HOWEVER it still sounds different than outboard. same for tube emulation, just adding digital 2nd and 3rd order harmonics has nothing to do with volts through a tube bulb.

FWIW: I found a decent (yea, I know YouTube sound quality...) A/B video that if you skip the guy's fawning commentary, seems to show a good example of what it does.. Doesn't sound bad to me by any means. Pretty much what people are saying here. A bit of color.
