Automation that can be treated like audio. So it can be leveled out, have different waveforms, but manipulated via other automation lanes(kind of like side chaining). Audio and Note automation devices. Random automation curves.
A midi view that combines all midi channels into one roll that uses letters instead of a vertical position to display pitch.
A piano roll that uses the vertical aspect to select the automation state of the plug in, so you can greater control over each note rather than having to automate each note individually. So maybe some notes have long release tails, while other ones have a short decay time, etc.
Once you have all of your automation states setup up, being creative is just messing around with the vertical positions on the piano roll. THen when you are done, you could switch the piano roll back to a more traditional view.
A sample finder that can easily find samples that sound similar to one you like. So maybe you need a hihat that's just a little brighter, and instead of hunting through file after file, this little gismo finds one for you.

This seems easy enough to implement. FL's piano roll already has per-note parameters for things like velocity.
If you could route that function to any parameter in your DAW, it'd be a very useful feature.

Ideally it would be like Ableton's automation, you click on the parameter and it automatically selects it for you.
