Hey Meridian, what kind of condition is your CDJ500 in. I have been in the market for a cdj and was planning on getting the 100 but now seeing the 500's price on ebay I am going to get that. I have found 2 so far, one seller claims he has had a Pioneer technician cleaned the laser etc etc and the other seller says that his was a B stock item, which means it was return to the factory for fixing. Just curious if your seller said the same stuff. I just don't want to buy a CD dexk and find out it doesn't work. |
well.. he didnt say a whole lot in the auction. he provided a picture, and stated it worked as it should. since he wasnt trying to push it, and the pic looked good, i went for it.
got it a few days ago... it's basically in new condition and reads CDRs just fine (even the mini ones burnt at 24x) - the pitch fader has a little wear but at least it's not stiff. the jog dial sounds like it needs lubrication (or new bearings, or something, it's a little rough-ish) but works just fine... my guess is I can probably make the jog dial feel like new with a few parts from pioneer and a few hours of my time.
it came with a very nice odyssey case. the actual deck doesnt have a scratch on it (looks like it's been cased since it was bought)
other than the normal wear and tear (pitch fader and jog dial), it's like new.
i'm happy
