They do indeed, but they are incredible. The support is off the charts. Go to MasterCraft's website to see how they are made. They are called a 'suspension' seat. Instead of just padding a hard surface, it's built like a hammok.

They are used in off-road race trucks and were designed for desert racing where you dont get up and are pounded for 1000 miles. Speaking from a racing and ownership experience, they work. VERY well.

Recaro used to (may still) offer their automotive seats as office chairs. It's not a new idea or anything. But with these, you do have to adapt your own swivel/tilt/roll base. More work, but again, worth the effort.

Plus you can get it custom upholstered to match your studio

I definitely respect well crafted, quality things. I have a zen part to me and though I don't have much stuff I want in life, the price tag on the stuff I do could be very high. :P
