since you have LOGIC .. don't get a sampler because the ESX24 thats comes with Logic can read akai CDS, GIGA, and Sounfonts but definitly look into geting a virus or a waldorf.

Actually yea i think so. Im not certain but to make reasons refills all you need is each wav for c2,c3,c5 and ect... right? Well with a progam called CDXtract 4.0 you can take any sample format Akai,Giga,Soundfonts,MPC,ESX24,SampleCell,Pulsar STS,Kurzweil. And convert them into all of the above formats or wav & Aiff. Hope that answers your question.

Also in the future A program called Chicken Systems Translator said they will suport it. Here a qoute from the web page,so keep a eye on there page. http://www.chickensys.com/translator/

"The Reason format is encrypted and compressed; thus we need the help of Propellerheads to write in the Reason or the ReFill formats. We are still in process of attempting to get this information."

That is the stupidest thing I have ever seen here. Shut up when you do not know what you are talking about. Apple bought it, not ''macintosh'' AND they will keep the PC products. Pros use Mac for audio stuff so it will only be better to have Apple putting money on this soft. PLEASE shut up

i didnt read this thread, but all I can tell you is that it ends up being very expensive.

I got my supernova and then found out my pc was too slow and not enough ram to run my sequencer so I had to buy a new computer (sonar easily uses 400+ mb ram for stable preformance using 30 tracks of combined midi and 96.24 audio).

Then, I found out my sound quality wasnt the greatest, recording off my synth. so i needed a new sound card (m-audio delta 44).

Then I needed a keyboard to play it on.

Then I needed a midi to usb device.

and so on and so on, so just know what you're getting yourself into.

and all I can recommend is to not buy a hardware drum machine, its a waste of money (trust me, I have one) use software like reason for drums. and sample CDs are always good to have.

hope this helps

but this is not to discourage you. there are tons of sounds that you just can't get from software.

my supernova was probably the best purchase I've made in a long time.

Actually, it is true that Logic will only continue on the Mac platform and no new versions of Logic will appear for PC.

BTW in the old days Mac was better than PC for music...but today, it's more of a matter of taste, or what you are used to.

Dj chrono what's wrong with the korg er 1 ? Did you fully explore it? My mate s got one and it seems very powerfull, some really crazy noizes and usefull drum sounds. I think it 's a very good source for drum sounds that have a little bit more punch then the "average".
Correct me if i'm wrong on this one
